The National Parliamentary Library of Georgia has been celebrating Poetry Day for nine years now.
The idea of declaring May 7 as Poetry Day is connected with the “Tsisperqantselebi “(Blue Horns). Tsisperqantselebi was a creative union of Georgian Symbolist poets and prose writers that dominated Georgian literature in the 1920s. It was founded by young writers in Kutaisi in 1916 and existed until the 1930s.
This year, in 2021, it was decided to celebrate Poetry Day together with the multinational citizens of Georgia.
