In the framework of coordinated efforts to tackle illegal migration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has expelled 31 foreign nationals from the country, declaring violations of immigration laws.
The operation, carried out by the Ministry’s Migration Department and its relevant units, targeted individuals residing in Georgia without legal grounds. The expelled persons were citizens of 13 countries, including Iran, India, Turkey, Turkmenistan, China, Egypt, Burundi, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Iraq.
“Under current legislation, the individuals have been banned from re-entering Georgia,” the Ministry said in an official statement. “The Migration Department is responsible for combating illegal migration, including identifying and expelling foreign citizens residing in the country without legal grounds.”
The move is part of bigger measures by the Georgian authorities to gain control over migration and make residency regulations stricter.
