The Writers’ House of Georgia highlighted a weekly event it has launched: ‘New Names,’ held every Friday and dedicated to introducing the work of emerging Georgian authors to a wider audience. The initiative, created in collaboration with the country’s literary newspaper, has the goal of promoting younger writers and engaging more individuals in contemporary Georgian literature.
Each evening is to feature three authors of different genres- poets or prose writers, who recite selections of their work and discuss their style, influences, and other aspects of their creative life. After the recitals, a moderator, typically a prominent figure in Georgian culture, starts a thorough conversation, with interactive dialogue enabling the attendees to participate.
Writers’ House issues announcements of the participating authors of upcoming events, along with other necessary details, weekly on its Facebook page, and notes that the public is welcome to join.
