Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, has expressed concerns over the unfolding situation in Georgia after the October 26 elections, and is urging the country’s leadership to take steps if they want to keep the country on the EU path.
“If Georgia seeks a strategic path toward the EU, we need to see clear steps taken by leaders. Our enlargement report emphasizes the ways to do so,” von der Leyen posted on X after speaking with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili during a phone call.
