Following President Salome Zurabishvili’s statement yesterday regarding the elections, the US Helsinki Commission has advised the State Department to publicly acknowledge possible fraudulent elections in Georgia, if proven.
President Zurabishvili claimed that the elections were ‘totally falsified’ and renounced the results, declaring that the acceptance of the election outcome is an endorsement of Russia’s entry into Georgia. She also claimed that Russian forces had carried out hybrid warfare operations in Georgia, calling it an advanced attempt to influence the election process.
The Helsinki Commission noted reputable reports of voter harassment, intimidation, and violations, stressing that the State Dept. should confirm fraud.
