Georgian parliamentary elections saw the voter turnout of 324,197 as of 10:00 a.m in the morning, making it a 9.27% participation rate from eligible voters, the Central Election Commission (CEC) reports. Since 3,508,294 voters are registered, the elections have 3,111 polling stations country-wide and 67 spots abroad, while digital voting is accessible at 2,263 locations.
Natia Ioseliani, CEC spokesperson, deemed the voting process ‘calm’ despite a reported incident of a voter receiving two ballots. Ioseliani addressed the public, saying that the vote-counting machines do not accept more than one ballot and such errors are fixed on the spot.
She encouraged political parties, media, and observers to be respectful of electoral regulations, emphasizing the importance of following the rules, especially in regard to media conduct at voting stations.
