‘For Georgia’ member on Zelensky’s statement: Georgians will never get used to conditions created by gov’t

“I am sure that in Zelensky’s statement there was only a comparison of the governments (Belarus and Georgia), because the Georgian people will never get used to the situation created by the government, as if there is any alternative, except for the Western perspective,” Beka Liluashvili, a member of the “For Georgia” party, told journalists.

According to him, Zelensky’s statement shows how broken the relationship is, when Ukraine once considered Georgia a strategic partner.

“I don’t agree, I’m sure it was only a comparison of the governments, because the Georgian people will never get used to the conditions created by the current government, as if there is any space, an alternative to the protection of the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, except for the Western perspective, integration into NATO and the European Union. There is none. However, it is very difficult when a state at war has such a bad relationship with your government that it makes such statements when it was once considered a strategic partner,” Liluashvili said.

For information, according to media reports, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at the opening of the second summit of the European Political Union (EPC) in Moldova: “We see what is happening in Belarus and what is happening in Georgia, how these countries have been involved in illegality in different ways.”

“All European countries, which Russia wants to divide, should become members of the European Union and NATO,” said Zelensky.
