The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili met with the President of the Republic of Malta, George Vella.
During the meeting, the participants acknowledged that Georgia and Malta share a set of common European values. The parties discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as the ongoing conflict in Ukraine resulting from Russia’s aggression and its unfavorable consequences.
The discussion also touched upon the regions of Georgia that have been occupied by Russia, Georgia’s favorable geographical location, and Georgia’s process of joining the European Union.
Vella, in particular, recognized Georgia’s progress and expressed Malta’s unwavering support for Georgia’s aspirations to become a member of the European Union.
