The Emergency Situations Management Service reports that the fires last night spreading in the forest massifs in the vicinity of Tbilisi have been extinguished.
Fires broke out in three forest massifs near Tbilisi: near the settlement of Napetrvrebi, near Tsavkisi and the road connecting Tbilisi-Tskneti. Strong winds contributed to the spread of the fire at all three locations.
“The emergency management service mobilized the fire response forces in the shortest possible time simultaneously in the three locations. As a result of the quick and effective action of the fire-rescuers, the fires were located on time and then extinguished,” reads the statement.
