In early 2021, Velox Education acquired Tbilisi Open University and laid the groundwork for the construction of a new educational institution “Alte University.” The President of the University is Ramaz Kukuladze, who has been a leading representative of the Georgian financial sector for more than 25 years. It was with the joint efforts of Mr. Kukuladze and Velox Education that fully authorized higher educational institution of 20 years of history and experience started operating with a new name, mission, and concept for introducing innovative approaches in the Georgian and International educational field and to raise competitive professionals.
Alte University is a new educational brand with global perspectives that aims to be a center of quality education not only for Georgian but also for international students.
“Georgia can become an educational hub in the region and mobilize a great potential of competitive staff,” – Kukuladze says.
Italian agency DINN! worked on the rebranding of Alte University and, as a result, they have created a new Georgian brand in the educational sphere.
“Paying special attention to content – this is the approach we saw in the people who worked for creating the Alte University brand together with us,” noted Andrea Borsetto, founder of DINN! “We need a cultural and educational change that will affect the development of the country’ is how the university owners answered when we asked why they decided to invest in the development of this university and that is why Alte University was created – which aspires to the altitude and highest point.”
Alte University unites students from 12 countries at four schools: Business School, International School of Medicine, School of Law, and School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The University currently offers up to 15 academic programs, both undergraduate and graduate.
The idea of Alte University comes from the emphasis on education and striving for the highest point. The word “alte” itself is Latin and means the peak, the highest point, and represents the way of constant development for reaching new goals, becoming a better person, and a better professional. The university pushes the student to the highest point, in other words towards the best version of themselves.
Students in a multicultural environment simultaneously learn the specifics of the selected field and put their ideas into practice. It should be noted that there is a “Startup Garage” on the campus of the university, which helps interested people to implement their own ideas. As for the partnerships, Alte University is a strategic partner of “Evex,” the largest healthcare provider in Georgia. Within the framework of the Memorandum of Exclusive Cooperation, Iv. Bokeria University Clinic is a medical institution affiliated with the University. Alte University also closely works with the Confucius Institute, giving each student an opportunity to study Chinese for free and to participate in exchange programs.
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with one of India’s largest educational institutions: the Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research and it should be noted that Alte University is also actively collaborating with Erasmus programs, creating even more opportunities for the students.
The mission of the University is to equip students with the knowledge and skills essential for creating sustainable value for themselves and for the society they live in.
It is important for the University to contribute to the formation of both students and the public mindset and to create an innovative and flexible learning space that will provide lifelong learning opportunities for not only students but also for alumni, to create more developmental opportunities for achieving their goals and create sustainable value things for society.
Alte University is a modern and friendly educational institution that supports individualism and creativity, but at the same time is demanding and full of challenges.
