Natalia Kutateladze, a Georgian mezzo-soprano, has made it to the final of the BBC’s Cardiff Singer of the World. The BBC Cardiff Singer of the World is considered one of the most prestigious competitions in operatic society and has been held every two years since 1983.
“I am a little shocked, but I am grateful. I am proud of all the people here because they did a great job. The environment that this competition has is very supportive [for the contestants. Despite the small audience, I feel support. I am very grateful. Thank you very much. Thanks to my amazing colleagues,” Kutateladze said.
The competition will be attended by 15 countries. Winners will receive a variety of awards: the main prize, the award for the song, and the listener prize. The winner of the main prize, in addition to a special prize, will also receive 20 thousand pounds.
