PM of Georgia to be Invited as Speaker at Brussels Forum

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili has been invited to be a leading speaker at the NATO Summit on June 14-18.

“On Monday, June 14th, at 10:00 am CEST NATO and the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) will co-host,” NATO 2030 at Brussels Forum, “a daylong summit on the future of the Alliance, against the backdrop of the first in-person NATO leaders meeting since the start of the pandemic.

High-level speakers include NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili,” reads the statement published on the forum website.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Davit Zalkaliani, commented on the information and noted that it is important that the Prime Minister of Georgia is invited to such an event.

“He will address the Brussels Forum, where he will talk about the priorities we have in terms of NATO integration, the country’s resilience to the challenges that are relevant, and, of course, emphasize that our ultimate goal is to be a full member of NATO. Integration.

“Georgia has done its utmost to ensure that our country be properly represented at this Brussels Summit and that important provisions for us be reflected in the final documents,” Zalkaliani said.
