The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, together with Uzbek officials, signs a series of agreements and memoranda aimed at deepening cooperation between Georgia and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The documents are signed during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Georgia. The ceremony follows an extended-format meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, and President Mirziyoyev, as well as the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between the two countries.
A one-year action plan between the governments of Georgia and Uzbekistan is signed, which is expected to support economic activity and strengthen cooperation in trade, tourism, logistics and transport.
An agreement on cooperation in information and communication technologies and digitalisation is also signed, covering areas such as broadband internet infrastructure, including the Europe–Asia digital corridor, data centre development, and broader digital transformation efforts.
A memorandum on tourism cooperation is signed, aimed at strengthening sectoral ties, sharing experience and best practices, and supporting investment opportunities in the sector.
Another memorandum concerns the E-Permit electronic permit exchange system, which is intended to facilitate a gradual transition to digital permits for international road freight transport and support the exchange of expertise between the two sides.
The agreements are signed together with Kvrivishvili by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtior Saidov, the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Transport, Ilkhom Makhkamov, and the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Abdulaziz Akulov.
