Georgia’s annual inflation rate stood at 5.8% in June 2026, while monthly inflation was 0.1%, Geostat data show.
Core inflation reached 3.5% compared to the same period last year, while annual core inflation excluding tobacco was 3.2%.
Monthly inflation was mainly driven by price increases in several service sectors.
Hotels, cafes and restaurants recorded a 2.1% price increase, contributing 0.08 percentage points to monthly inflation. The rise was driven by higher costs for overnight services (4.1%) and public catering (1.7%).
Transport prices rose by 0.6%, also adding 0.08 percentage points to inflation. The increase was mainly linked to transport services (2.9%) and the operation of personal vehicles (0.2%).
At the same time, prices in clothing and footwear fell by 2.3%, reducing monthly inflation by 0.1 percentage points. Clothing prices dropped by 3.1%, while footwear declined by 0.6%.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices decreased by 0.1%, subtracting 0.07 percentage points from monthly inflation. Declines were recorded in milk, cheese and eggs (-1.5%), sugar, jam and sweets (-1.3%), vegetables and fruits (-1.1%), and coffee, tea and cocoa (-0.7%).
At the same time, price increases were recorded in several subgroups, including fruits and grapes (3.3%), fish (1.5%), meat and meat products (0.5%), bread and bakery products (0.1%), and mineral water and non-alcoholic beverages (0.1%).
