TBC Capital Expands Investor Access to Uzbekistan’s Capital Market
TBC Capital continues its international expansion, unlocking new investment opportunities for its clients.
It has become the first investment bank to be granted membership in Uzbekistan’s so-called regulatory sandbox by the country’s capital market authority. This designation significantly enhances access to Uzbekistan’s securities market for TBC Capital’s investors.
The regulatory sandbox is a special legal framework that allows foreign intermediary companies to provide services to non-resident individuals without requiring specific local licenses. Through this mechanism, TBC Capital can now operate on behalf of its investors in Uzbekistan’s securities market — including the purchase of treasury bonds and corporate bonds — and open cash accounts in both local and foreign currencies.
“TBC Capital is actively contributing to the development of Uzbekistan’s capital market. This new status strengthens investor trust and allows us to expand our role in both local and international markets. Gaining sandbox membership from the Uzbek regulator marks a major milestone for us and our investors, providing broader access to diverse investment products. With this step, we aim to meet growing demand and offer our clients new opportunities. This move fully aligns with our strategic goal of expanding TBC Capital globally,”
– Otar Sharikadze, CEO of TBC Capital.

Tegeta Business Joins as a Supporter of TBC Business Award 2025
The TBC Business Award 2025 is launching with a record number of applicants and a brand-new nomination category. Alongside this large-scale project stand leading brands that are themselves dedicated to fostering the country’s business community.
One of these brands is Tegeta, a Georgian company with 30 years of experience, whose products and vision align closely with the values of the TBC Business Award.
“We deeply understand the importance and role of small and medium-sized business development in the country’s economy. A strong economy is built by developing internal resources — by encouraging the people and companies who drive economic dynamics through job creation and innovation,” says Elenka Kokhreidze, Chief Marketing Officer of Tegeta Holding.
This vision lies at the heart of Tegeta Business, a new direction aimed specifically at small and medium-sized enterprises. Through this initiative, the company aims to support the improvement of SMEs’ operational processes, cost management, and overall efficiency.
“Supporting local businesses goes beyond offering products and services — it means building meaningful partnerships based on shared experience, technological expertise, and a forward-thinking mindset. Our goal is to help businesses grow and empower them to take a visible place in the country’s business ecosystem,” explains a company representative.
According to Elenka Kokhreidze, the TBC Business Award is more than just a competition — it’s a space that encourages a shift in mindset, where businesses start reflecting not only on what they do, but how they achieve their goals.
“For me personally, every successful business story is valuable. The TBC Business Award is far more than a trophy — it’s a process that enables companies to analyze their journey, recognize their accomplishments, and share their unique stories with the public. Initiatives like this create an environment where business evolves not only operationally, but also strategically and in terms of values. It lays a solid foundation for future growth,” says Kokhreidze.

Most importantly, they create a platform for meaningful connections between people, which can lead to new opportunities for the country and for businesses,” said Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, one of the keynote speakers at GTWT on June 21.

Spanning three days, Global Tech Weekend Tbilisi 2025 featured mini-sessions, inspirational talks, workshops, meet & greets, and various activities. It became an unforgettable experience not only for tech enthusiasts but for all participants.

Tene – a “Green” USB Cable Manufacturer Growing with the Support of TBC Business
For several years now, Tene has made its mark on the Georgian market — a brand created by the company Ginventor, producing eco-friendly USB cables. The founding idea was simple yet ambitious: to deliver high-quality microelectronic products to consumers. Initially relying on imports, the team soon decided to start their own local manufacturing.
Turning this idea into reality required both significant effort and deepening expertise in the field. As Tene’s founder, Aleksandre Liluashvili, explains, he was determined not to create a product that would harm the environment.
“After extensive research and experimentation, we discovered we could manufacture cables using bottle caps. In the beginning, it was quite difficult to fully master the technology, and it took a long time to reach the level of quality we now offer. Over time, we gained valuable experience, developed steadily, and earned a strong reputation.”
Today, Tene’s technological capabilities are at an advanced level — in both efficiency and durability. This progress has been driven by innovative approaches and a clear vision — one that never strayed from its ecological path. The company uses recycled materials in its production, including the aforementioned bottle caps.
One of the most notable aspects of Tene is its status as a social enterprise. The company employs individuals displaced by the 2008 war in Georgia. Moreover, the entire production process is powered exclusively by renewable energy, minimizing CO₂ emissions and reducing environmental impact.
Of course, in addition to technological development, brand visibility was essential in the early stages — specifically, how recognizable the brand would become to consumers. Aleksandre highlights the role of TBC in this process:
“Participating in and winning the TBC Business Award was not only a major financial boost, but it also significantly increased our exposure. It served as a kind of advertisement that led to many new deals and broader recognition.”
One particularly successful initiative is a joint project between Tene and TBC, which involved creating mobile phone holders. These practical accessories are made from recycled and broken cables and consist of biodegradable and repurposed materials.
“This initiative came directly from TBC — they gave us the opportunity to develop it as our own product and explore a new direction. They also ran an excellent campaign around the project, which further increased our visibility and sparked interest from many companies wanting to collaborate with us.”
Today, the project is evolving in an even more practical direction: the mobile holder is being redesigned to include a phone charging function — a simple solution to a common and often frustrating problem.
