Salome Zurabishvili, the President of Georgia, met with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany today.
The president’s administration reported that the meeting took place in Berlin on September 30.
The press secretary for Steinmeier, Serstin Gamelin, reported details on the meeting, noting that the German President revealed his gratitude for Zurabishvili’s pro-European views amidst current political turmoil in Georgia; however, he still expressed concerns regarding Georgia’s impeded European integration. Steinmeier also stated his opinion that the current government may be putting Georgia’s goals and opportunities at risk.
Gamelin conveyed the information to the public right after the meeting between the two presidents was concluded and emphasized the necessity to make prompt decisions for Georgia’s European future.
