- Supported by TBC: Why Tester’s Day 2024 is a Must-Attend Event for Tech Enthusiasts
September 9 marks International Testers’ Day, a celebration that has become a tradition in Tbilisi. This year, the 5th annual two-day conference will take place on September 8-9 at the Sheraton Metekhi Palace, where technology enthusiasts can expect to hear from a diverse lineup of international and local speakers, engage in panel discussions, participate in workshops, and enjoy various activities that will enhance their professional development.
Each year, GeoSTQB’s Tester’s Day events grow in size, interest, and value. Natia Sirbiladze, president and co-founder of GeoSTQB, believes that this year’s event will be particularly special and shares insights on why attendees should look forward to Tester’s Day 2024.
A Unique and Diverse Program with Dynamic Discussions
The success of any tech event hinges on its speakers, and Tester’s Day 2024 promises to be exceptional in this regard. For instance, automation expert Andrew Knight, founder of AutomationPanda, will deliver a talk on scaling automated tests.
“Each year is unique as we select themes that are either entirely new or approached from a fresh angle. We keep an eye on international trends and the local market to choose relevant topics. This year, we’re adding subjects like game testing,” Natia Sirbiladze explains.
Natia highlights that one of the standout features of Tester’s Day 2024 will be its focus on cutting-edge topics and approaches that will introduce the audience to modern practices, boosting their confidence and productivity.
For example, tester therapy sessions will address the importance of soft skills in testing, not just technical expertise. Natia believes this session will emphasize the development of essential approaches and policies for testers.
“We’ll also tackle common concerns, such as implementing testing strategies on existing products, and explore the testing pyramid approach, which we haven’t covered before. Additionally, we’ll unveil a new AI-driven product called Practical Tester, which is a first in the industry and will be introduced in Georgia,” says Natia.
A new feature of this year’s event is an “open space” where attendees can try their hand at public speaking on software security testing.
At Testers’ Day, Aleko Iskoniani, a member of TBC’s tech team with 20 years of experience, will share his insights on applying a new testing strategy at TBC. Another TBC tech team member, Irina Inashvili, will discuss tools and practices to help tech enthusiasts manage testing challenges effectively. This is just a glimpse of the speakers and topics that will capture your interest at Tester’s Day 2024.
“TBC has been our main sponsor for three years, and their involvement adds significant value to the tech community. Attendees can learn from real-life projects and experiences shared by a major tech company. Together, we aim to drive growth, innovation, and development,” Natia concludes.
Overall, Tester’s Day 2024 promises to be an unforgettable event that will enhance your skills, keep you updated on modern trends, and contribute to your professional growth.
- TBC Equity Weekly Insight – Chief Economist on Currency Buffers and Market Sentiment
The analysis of transactions conducted through TBC channels in August reveals a robust influx of foreign currency and overall economic activity. TBC Capital’s forecast anticipates real economic growth of around 9% for 2024. Additionally, the strong currency inflows contribute to the accumulation of buffers. Preliminary data suggest that it may be possible to further bolster SEB’s foreign exchange reserves. Meanwhile, the sentiment factor remains crucial, as evidenced by the significant rise in net foreign currency purchases by businesses and individuals in recent periods.
Two key conclusions emerge from this analysis. First, foreign exchange inflows are sufficiently strong that they do not negatively impact the lari’s exchange rate. In fact, as noted, there is potential for increasing international reserves. Second, these developments serve as a buffer, which could contribute to the strengthening of the GEL when market sentiment shifts. It’s also worth noting that in August, the share of non-residents holding GEL government securities increased after four months of decline.
