- Technovation Girls: Batumi Team Triumphs with AI-Powered Glasses, Backed by TBC
With the backing of TBC, the global initiative Technovation Girls was successfully held in Georgia for the second consecutive year. This international competition unites tens of thousands of girls from over a hundred countries around the world, fostering innovation and technological advancement.
During Technovation Girls SAKARTVELO 2024, a local jury selected the top teams whose projects will represent Georgia on the international stage. Among the winners is a talented group from Batumi, who developed the project “AI Eyes”—a pair of sensory glasses designed to enhance the independence of visually impaired individuals.
Team members Tamuna Tsintskhaladze, Lizi Shanidze, Tamo Verdzadze, and Tea Kharabadze created an application that connects with the sensory glasses to assist the blind. The glasses detect and announce the names of nearby objects to the user by scanning the environment and relaying the information through the app.
The application also includes a book-reading feature, where users can upload books, and the built-in AI system reads them aloud. Currently, the app is fully functional in English, with Georgian text-to-speech capabilities under development. The team also plans to integrate a navigation function, enabling the device to serve as a navigator, further aiding the blind in moving independently.
“The entire process was incredibly rewarding. Despite having no prior experience in programming or technology, this project significantly helped us develop the necessary skills. We encountered many challenges and often felt overwhelmed, even to the point of nearly giving up, but with our mentor’s support and encouragement, we persevered and completed the project,” the team shared.
As a technology-driven company, TBC supports initiatives like Technovation Girls SAKARTVELO to foster the growth of the technology ecosystem, empower young women in this field, and raise awareness of technology among the younger generation

- TBC’s Partner Jeeps Georgia: Leading the Way in Car Navigation and Security Systems
Jeeps Georgia stands out as a prominent player in Georgia’s car satellite navigation and security systems market. With a growing demand for advanced GPS monitoring systems for both personal and corporate vehicles, Jeeps Georgia’s success is evident from its impressive growth. When Giorgi Chugoshvili and his business partner Rati Maglaperidze acquired the company several years ago, it had around 700 installations and a monthly revenue of 30,000-35,000 GEL. Today, the company boasts 12,000 installations and a monthly income of 200,000 GEL
“Several years ago, my partner and I decided to acquire this company. We were short on funds, and TBC was instrumental in bridging that gap. Despite the challenges, including the pandemic, our company has continued to thrive and expand,” says Chugoshvili.
Jeeps Georgia primarily caters to corporate clients, including transport companies, car rental services, pharmacies, and distribution firms. “Companies with their own fleets are naturally keen on minimizing unnecessary expenses, such as vehicle misuse and fuel theft. Our primary role is to prevent such issues,” Chugoshvili explains.
The company offers several key products. The first is a GPS device that tracks vehicle movement, speed, driving quality, and braking. This device helps in monitoring and identifying potential misuse by employees.
The second major product is fuel sensors, which are installed in large vehicles’ tanks to measure fuel levels and consumption, helping detect theft. Additionally, Jeeps Georgia monitors refrigerated vehicles, ensuring the appropriate temperature and humidity for goods in transit.
Jeeps Georgia also provides optional products like driver identification systems, allowing companies to know exactly who is operating their vehicles. Their business model is straightforward: customers purchase the devices and then pay a monthly fee for ongoing support services.
“Lithuania is a leader in transport telematics, and our partners include Teltonika, a GPS device manufacturer, and Gurtam, a software supplier. All our devices are sourced from the EU. We also handle installation through our mobile teams and have partnered with Tegeta Motors. Our installation network is extensive and operates across Georgia, unlike other companies with delayed service. This efficiency contributes significantly to our market leadership,” concludes Chugoshvili.
- TBC Capital Unveils Insightful Report on Optimal Currency Structure for Residential Real Estate Projects
TBC Capital has released its inaugural report in the Exchange Rate Business Economics series, focusing on the optimal currency structure for financing residential real estate projects.
The report highlights that exchange rates significantly impact real estate prices when expressed in US dollars, with research from various countries showing that strong devaluations can affect prices by up to 50%. This correlation is evident in both devaluations and consolidations, indicating that real estate prices are partially denominated in foreign currencies as well as local currencies.
Additionally, the publication examines the advantages of incorporating the euro alongside the US dollar in financing structures. It evaluates short-term, medium-term, and long-term indicators to support this approach and explores the relative risk of the euro versus the dollar in Georgia and other regional markets.
According to the authors, the proposed financing structure, based on a GEL/EUR/USD currency basket, offers not only a rational choice during periods of market stress but also proves to be a more effective option in stable conditions.
