Official visit of Vakhtang Gomelauri to the Federal Republic of Germany has been completed.
Within the framework of the visit Gomelauri met with the Federal Minister of the Interior and Community of the Federal Republic of Germany – Nancy Faeser.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of bilateral law enforcement cooperation and set perspectives of future collaboration. Special emphasis was made to the measures implemented in the direction of the fight against illegal migration and organized crime, as well as the role of Police Attaches in this field.
The German side noted that implementation of the readmission agreement with the European Union by Georgia is successful. The measures taken by Georgia and the current reforms, which were implemented in response to the challenges of visa-free regime with the European Union, were also positively evaluated.
The German side expressed its will to create bilateral working groups aimed at creating additional opportunities for Georgian citizens with various qualifications to legally work in Germany.
Within the framework of the official visit the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia also met with the President of the Federal Criminal Office of the Federal Republic of Germany – Holger Munch.
Within the meeting, parties discussed existing fruitful collaboration between the law enforcement agencies of the two country and positively evaluated lately conducted joint operations.
