Luka Berulava and Anastasia Metelkina, representing Georgia in figure skating, secured the gold medal at the junior figure skating Grand Prix stage held in Budapest. The Georgian couple claimed first place with 36 points, while Ukraine and Canada secured second and third place, respectively.
During the award ceremony, the Georgian couple approached the Ukrainian pair, Violeta Serova and Ivan Khotba, to offer their congratulations. The Ukrainian duo declined to shake hands or accept the felicitations.
Although Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava compete on behalf of Georgia, both athletes were born in Russia and trained there.
