“Two more people have been arrested for covering a crime in connection with Mikheil Saakashvili‘s arrival in Georgia,” Prosecutor Levan Vepkhvadze told journalists.
Vepkhvadze noted that the identities of the detainees will be known in the near future.
“Two more people have been arrested for covering up a crime. The public will be informed in detail in the near future. The investigation was also launched under Article 344 in relation to the assistance to a migrant to illegally cross the state border and creation of proper conditions for him/her,” noted Levan Vepkhvadze.
Earlier, the owner of the apartment where Saakashvili was arrested in Tbilisi, Elguja Tsomaia, was detained by the police for covering the crime. However, lawyers say no crime was committed by him, as there is no relevant article in the Georgian constitution.
