Traffic for vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers has been fully restored on the Gudauri (Posta)–Kobi section of the Mtskheta–Stepantsminda–Larsi international highway, the Roads Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure reported.
The reopening applies to the km93–km107 stretch of the strategically important route, which serves as Georgia’s main road connection to the Russian border. Restrictions on heavy vehicles had been introduced earlier due to adverse weather conditions affecting road safety in the mountainous area.
The Roads Department stated that weather conditions have now improved sufficiently to allow the resumption of traffic for all categories of vehicles on this section of the highway.
