In order to confirm the green status of foreign citizens, it will be enough to submit the relevant documents issued in their country. The above change was made in the resolution of the Government of Georgia, the press service of the government reports.
Based on the decree, checking the green status of the foreign nationals who are not registered on the electronic portal – www.covidpass.moh.gov.ge, in the application – CovidPass Georgia and EU Digital COVID Certificate system, will be possible through QR code issued by the country or on the basis of a complete vaccination or a negative PCR-test document issued by the relevant official agency.
The government says the purpose of this decision is to enable foreign citizens to enjoy green status with a document issued in their own country.
The concept of ‘Green Passport’ came into force in Georgia on December 1, which means that citizens can enter various facilities only through the principle of ‘Green Status.’ These include: open and closed spaces of restaurants, eateries, cafes and bars, cinemas, theaters, opera, concert halls, entertainment centers, casinos and gambling establishments, spas, gyms, hotels and also mountain resorts – cable cars. The ‘Green Passport’ requirement is valid only for citizens over 18 years of age.
A person has green status if he/she is fully vaccinated, has a 72-hour validity PCR test, or a 24-hour validity antigen test, or has contracted coronavirus.
