This year, for the first time, Adjara to host a hiking festival

This year, for the first time, a hiking festival will be held in Adjara. The tourism product development agency of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara Autonomous Republic plans to hold a festival in the summer in order to promote the tourist routes of mountainous Adjara and stimulate hiking in Adjara. During 4 days, hikers and travelers participating in the festival will hike the 45 km long hiking route “Chirukhi-Khikhani-Shuamta Lakes-Beshumi-Goderdzi-Alpine Botanical Garden”.

Tourist trails include the alpine zone, natural and cultural heritage, such as Shratiani and Shuamta lakes, Khikhani Castle, Alpine Garden, Green Lake, as well as various cognitive and interactive activities, culinary master classes and competitions. The festival will start in Chirukhi and end in the Alpine Botanical Garden. Its goal is to promote hiking as a type of adventure tourism, and for hikers-travelers to familiarize themselves with the tourist paths and routes of Adjara. The hiking festival is held in Adjara for the first time and participation in it is free. Registration for participants will begin in May.
