Fine for unauthorized construction in Tbilisi cultural heritage protection zone to increase

From today, the fine for unauthorized construction in the cultural heritage protection zone in Tbilisi is increasing. As the Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, said at the government meeting, the amount of the fine will increase from 25,000 GEL to 250,000 GEL.

“I would like to remind our residents once again that the purpose of adopting this law is to prevent illegal constructions in the cultural heritage protection zones as much as possible, and to introduce a kind of preventive mechanism. I hope that our citizens, the construction workers, will take this into account and together we will take care of maintaining the capital’s historical appearance,” said the Mayor.
