The Tbilisi Transport Company, in charge of municipal transportation in the capital, has shared its financial report with the Ministry of Finance, revealing the company’s total growth of 18%, approximately GEL 307 million.
Despite higher income, the expenses also grew, resulting in a loss of GEL 70 million. As stated in the report, the company was entitled to a subsidy worth GEL 271 million from the government, the bulk of which was allocated to enhancing the municipal transport fleet.
Starting in 2022, a new payment structure was introduced for ticket fares, offering cards with the ability to travel without restrictions within specific time intervals. Passengers can select their preferred options, including 90-minute rides, single-day, week, and multiple month-long cards, or a year-long pass.
