Tbilisi City Hall has announced that the annual ‘Sakura Blossom Days’ festival will take place on April 4–5 at the National Botanical Garden of Georgia, offering visitors a two-day program celebrating Japanese culture. Organized by the Botanical Garden with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Georgia, the festival is being held for the sixth time in Tbilisi.
Throughout the event, visitors will be able to explore exhibitions and performances inspired by Japanese traditions. The program includes displays of handmade crafts, anime-themed exhibitions and presentations of Japanese literature. Interactive workshops will also be held, including origami and shodō (Japanese calligraphy), alongside live performances of traditional Japanese dance.
On April 5, the festival will open at 10:30 with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. The day will continue with masterclasses in sushi preparation and kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing ceramics.
