TBC started 2024 with Testers Meetup
TBC kicked off 2024 with its second annual Testers Meetup, an internal event dedicated to quality assurance and testing automation professionals. The event serves as a platform for TBC’s QA and Test Automation team to showcase their achievements and share technical solutions developed throughout the year. This year’s Testers Meetup featured discussions on the evolution of quality assurance at TBC, spanning from the inception of Agilel to the present day. Attendees shared insights into progress, novel approaches, and noteworthy achievements within the community, while also addressing the challenges and significance of the processes involved.
Preceding the event was a competition focused on solving challenges within TBC and streamlining daily processes. Finalist teams presented their tools during Testers Meetup, and a winner was chosen by a panel of judges. As a technology company, TBC places a high value on knowledge-sharing events and competitions to foster continuous development and gain fresh experiences. The quality department at TBC, comprising 180 dedicated employees, actively participates in domestic and international technological events, striving to simplify people’s daily lives through innovation and collaboration.
Impact Hub pre-accelerator finalist Roommate is trying to solve problems related to student housing
Roommate, a pre-accelerator finalist in the Impact Hub program, is a startup founded a year ago that addresses challenges in student housing. Focused on connecting individuals seeking apartments and facilitating the rental process for apartment owners, Roommate initially targeted students struggling to find roommates and affordable shared accommodation. Recognizing the trust issues apartment owners had with students, Roommate actively engaged in negotiations with them to develop a solution. The breakthrough came when they established an agreement wherein apartment owners handed over their properties to Roommate, which then rented them to groups of students. This innovative approach, marking the first of its kind in Georgia, not only resolved the primary issue for students by enabling group rentals but also alleviated the concerns of apartment owners, creating a reliable and user-oriented system.
The startup’s success is evidenced by increasing demand each month, driven by a commitment to high-quality service and customer-focused solutions. By participating in the Impact Hub pre-accelerator project, Roommate gained valuable contacts, insights from successful startups, and mentorship that significantly influenced the development of their product. The experience led to a shift in their international market strategy, providing them with concrete advice based on real-world experiences. The Impact Hub pre-accelerator, initiated in 2021 and supported by the TBC program Startuper, has been instrumental in fostering the growth of Roommate and other startups, resulting in over 1 million euros in investments and grants for the participating teams across three streams and 60 startups.
Travel tour planning platform TourTour Impact Hub will go to Estonia as part of pre-accelerator project
TourTour Impact Hub, a startup in the travel tour planning sector, is a pre-accelerator finalist set to travel to Estonia to advance its product development. In Georgia, despite the presence of numerous travel companies, efficiently planning an affordable and interesting trip remains a challenge. The founders of TourTour conceived the idea after facing travel planning issues themselves, aiming to assist both travel companies in crafting appealing packages and attracting customers, as well as simplifying the decision-making process for tourists.
On the TourTour platform, tourists can explore various offers, compare tours, access pricing information, evaluate different agencies, and ultimately choose a personalized, budget-friendly package. Simultaneously, travel agencies benefit from free registration, tracking statistics, and promotion on social networks and YouTube. The platform fosters healthy competition, crucial for market development, and operates on a commission basis only after the agency’s tour is successfully sold on the site. Though TourTour is set to launch in March, 52 Georgian travel agencies are already committed to registering once the platform is live. The startup is currently fine-tuning details and participating in a pre-accelerator project, gaining skills to engage with investors and customers while preparing for international market entry in Tallinn in January. The pre-accelerator, established in 2021, has supported 60 startups across three streams, resulting in over 1 million euros in investments and grants.
With TBC’s support, an ICCA member companies’ meeting occurred.
The “Infrastructure Builders Association,” backed by TBC, presented new member companies: “Elside,” “Hydrodiagnostics,” “Bemon Engineering and Construction,” “Vortex,” “Selford,” “Apart Construction,” “Speccomfort.” The event, managed by the association for years, showcases industry diversity and strengthens its voice in the economy. Sustainable construction was chosen as the topic, emphasizing modern approaches. Ana Sabakhtarishvili, ICCA Executive Director, highlighted the day’s importance and the upcoming board member election.
TBC, a traditional supporter of the “Association of Infrastructure Builders” event, sees infrastructure as crucial for both TBC and the country’s growth. Infrastructure projects generate jobs, introduce technologies, and foster development, aligning with Georgia’s role as a regional center. Giorgi Darchiashvili, TBC’s Director of Large and Medium Corporate Clients, emphasized TBC’s support for initiatives promoting EU-standard energy-efficient products.
The meeting included the conclusion of the mentoring program. Member company representatives served as mentors, aiding regional construction material producers. Certificates were awarded to mentors for their successful contributions.
