A subsidy program for small and medium restaurant businesses located in Tbilisi is to be launched, Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili stated at Thursday’s government session.
He noted that the initiative belongs to the Mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze.
Based on it, financial assistance for dining facilities has been set at GEL 5,000, while funding for more than one restaurant operated by one legal entity amounts to GEL 10,000.
“The pandemic has affected almost every sector of the economy. The crisis has created a particular problem for the tourism sector and food establishments that depend on the flow of tourists, and today at the government session, we will discuss the relevant initiative related to the following issue. Criteria were developed in accordance with the anti-crisis plan and an SME Support Program to alleviate the damage caused by the pandemic and stimulate the economy, and a subsidy program, were launched for small and medium-sized restaurant businesses in Tbilisi.
“The central government is ready to support the City Hall initiative,” Garibashvili said.
