The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili met with the co-rapporteurs of the Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by the Member States of the Council of Europe (Monitoring Committee), Edite Estrela and Claude Kern.
The Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Natalia Voutova, also attended the meeting.
The parties addressed Georgia’s implementation of the reforms set for by the 12 recommendations of the European Union and dwelt on the parliamentary agenda and recent events in Georgia.
Papuashvili expressed gratitude to the co-rapporteurs for their work on the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and for the group’s support of Georgia’s efforts to strengthen the country’s democracy.
Irakli Chikovani, the Head of the Permanent Delegation of Georgia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, also attended the meeting.
