In response to the post made by the student movement of Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Film declaring that the administration deliberately revoked the student status of those actively involved in civic duties, the institution released a statement.
In an official statement, the university explained that students have the right to appeal the Ethics Commission’s ruling. “The rector has not yet issued an order on the termination of student status,” the announcement stated. “Students may submit a written appeal within three working days, and the rector will have one month to review each case and make a final decision.”
The timing of the Ethics Commission’s decision and the administration’s swift communication sparked concerns and suspicion among people, continuing to believe that the decision was primarily a result of students’ involvement in protests.
