Multiple students involved in ongoing protests received emails from Shota Rustaveli Theater and Film University informing them that their student status had been revoked. The university’s student movement has publicly disclosed this information.
The email said that the university’s Ethics Commission reviewed alleged violations of the institution’s code of conduct and ruled to terminate specific students’ enrollment.
The decision has sparked concerns among student activists, who view it as retaliation for their protests.
The official email received by student activists reads: “As you are aware, a meeting of the Ethics Commission took place, during which the issue of students violating the norms outlined in the university’s Code of Ethics was discussed. We inform you that, in line with the decision of the Ethics Commission, your student status has been revoked.”
