Service Agency Resumes Operation

The Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) resumed its services throughout Georgia on Monday.

Effective February 17, citizens will be able to take theory and practical driving tests, and register a weapon at the service centers of the agency across the country.

The Service Agency will continue to issue documents necessary for citizens via its website and now again in its service centers.

The MIA Service Agency urges citizens to follow coronavirus-related recommendations.

“Effective February 17, the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will resume all services limited due to COVID-19 prevention measures throughout Georgia.

“From February 17, it will be possible to take  theoretical and practical exams for driving license. Users now are able to book a series of theoretical exams electronically.

“Also, the procedures related to the registration of weapons will be fully restored. Interested persons will be able to pass the firearms registration permit test.

“The Service Agency, for the safety of citizens, fully takes into account the recommendations of the Interagency Coordination Council of the Government of Georgia. We urge citizens to wear face masks when visiting the service centers and taking exams,” reads the statement released by the agency.
