Georgia’s fifth President, Salome Zurabishvili, says she has been fined 5,000 GEL by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for blocking a road during a recent protest.
Zurabishvili shared the news on social media, posting a photo of the administrative violation report. The fine relates to her participation in a rally held on Rustaveli Avenue on March 3.
“I’ve been baptized as an activist today!” she wrote. “And I stood where all mothers should have stood – beside the mothers of prisoners of conscience.”
