Today, on September 28, a new 51 km road connecting Imereti-Racha has opened.
“It will be possible to get to Racha from Tbilisi in three hours by a new road connecting Imereti-Racha, which is a great comfort for our citizens,” said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
The new road connects two regions – Imereti and Racha. The road starts in Sachkhere, passes through the villages Sarek, Kvemo Khevi, Uzunta, Shkmeri, Bokva, Kvashkhieti, and Zudali, and finally joins the Ambrolauri-Oni road, which is 20 km from Ambrolauri and 5 km from Oni.
Travel is possible on the shortest new road connecting Sachkhere Oni from today, with the journey taking 4.5 hours instead of 6.
