Representatives from Poti, Chkorotsku, and Khobi municipalities are discussing Georgia’s National Concept on Women’s Economic Empowerment at a working meeting supported by UNDP Georgia and Embassy of Sweden in Tbilisi in partnership with Start Now civil society organization.
Adopted by the Parliament of Georgia in 2023, the National Concept on Women’s Economic Empowerment marks a milestone in empowering women across various sectors, including economic policymaking, equal access to resources, equal pay, and care economy.
UNDP and Sweden are supporting municipalities across Georgia to raise awareness about the key areas outlined by the concept ensuring its effective implementation.
“A lot of motivated and talented women stepped up in recent years making their mark in Georgia’s public sphere. We are committed to nurturing this emerging generation of women leaders, giving them the platform they deserve to shape Georgia’s future,” – the UNDP noted.
