“Refuse Russia to restore direct flights” – today, May 15, at 19:00, a rally will be held in front of the Parliament.
The organizer of the action is May Civil Movement.
As the organizers of the rally say, Georgia has no right to adapt to the policy of rapprochement with Russia.
“Twenty percent of Georgia’s territory is occupied by Russia, and the creeping occupation continues today. Georgian warriors fight alongside Ukrainians and sacrifice their lives for the freedom of Georgia and Ukraine. Russian missiles are flying in Ukraine, destroying cities and civilians. The Ukrainian people protect their land at the cost of their own blood and put up a strong resistance to the invader. In the background of all this, the Georgian government intends to restore direct flights with Russia. How will the resumption of direct flights affect you, the citizens”, the statement of the organizers of the action says.
As the organizers of the rally claim, while the European Union has imposed sanctions on Russia, including traffic restrictions, accepting the aircrafts of sanctioned companies and cooperating with these companies will lead to the sanctioning of Georgian airlines, airports and the country itself.
“This means that you will no longer be able to fly to European countries, because the Georgian airport will also be subject to sanctions, and the airlines operating in Georgia will no longer be able to receive spare parts for aircraft equipment.
A sanctioned country automatically means rejection of the candidate status!!! We have no right to accept the policy of rapprochement with Russia. We are ordinary citizens who want our children to live in Europe and not in Russia,” the statement of the organizers of the rally said.
