The passenger payment system for public transport has been restored, Tbilisi City Hall announced.
The system was temporarily disabled due to an alleged cyber attack that caused it to malfunction. Reports indicated that the payment device generated an error message and played an audio recording during transactions.
Representatives from the contractor companies of the Bank of Georgia (BoG)—MS and Azri Ltd.—have successfully resolved the technical issue and restored the system’s functionality, the City Hall announced.
Citizens claimed today that Tbilisi buses and minibuses played the anthems of Georgia and the European Union, as well as voice messages of various content by politicians.
