A protest rally was held on January 5 on Rustaveli Avenue, where demonstrators have gathered on the sidewalk in front of the Parliament of Georgia.
Participants carried Georgian national flags alongside those of the European Union. Protesters claimed that they plan to return to Rustaveli Avenue on Christmas Eve at 8:00 p.m. to celebrate Christmas together as part of the ongoing demonstrations.
Continuous protests have been taking place near the Parliament building for more than a year. The demonstrators say their demands remain unchanged: the announcement of new parliamentary elections and the release of individuals detained during the protests.
