The firefighters and rescuers of the emergency management service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue the localization and extinguishing works of the fire in the Borjomi gorge in a round-the-clock regime.
Helicopters of the Border Police and three specialized firefighting planes of the Republic of Turkey have been involved in the process of extinguishing the fire since morning.
Additional water pumps have been installed. On the hard-to-reach terrain, special routes have been laid for several kilometers, with the help of which fire sources are treated.
Employees of various departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, as well as the relevant services of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture are actively participating in the localization and extinguishing works.
All relevant fire prevention efforts are implemented so that the fire does not spread to populated areas or strategic locations.
Despite the difficult localization and extinguishing work, not a single firefighter or representative of various agencies participating in the works has been injured.
