For the first time in 46 years, prices for cocoa beans are increasing. According to Jack Scoville, vice president of The Price Futures Group, the supply of cocoa beans from South Africa is still limited.
According to the latest information, the price of one ton of cocoa rose to $5,006, while a few days ago it was $4,956. Cocoa prices rose by 15% in January, the sharpest increase since November 2020.
