According to the statements of Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia, according to the preliminary assessment of statistics, in January 2021, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the decline in the real gross domestic product (GDP) was 11.5%.
“In January 2021, a decrease compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was observed in the following activities: construction, transport and warehousing, processing industry, accommodation, arts, entertainment, and recreation, real estate activities, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, wholesale, and retail; cars and motorcycle repair.
“An increase was observed in information and communication, financial and insurance activities,” says the statement.
