The Polish Embassy in Georgia has issued a warning to its citizens, urging them to carefully assess any personal factors that may increase the risk of being denied entry into the country.
“Due to numerous recent cases of foreign nationals, including EU citizens, being refused entry into Georgia, we advise travelers to consider whether their individual circumstances—such as past participation in demonstrations, presence near protest sites, or certain social media activity—may raise red flags with Georgian authorities,” the statement reads.
The Embassy emphasized that Georgian authorities have full discretion to determine entry eligibility and that even holders of Georgian residence permits may be refused entry.
The statement also warns that foreigners may face significant fines for participating—or allegedly participating—in protests, and that re-entry into Georgia could require immediate payment of these penalties.
