Georgia’s Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia announced that they expect the Pfizer vaccine to arrive by the end of the week, after which medical staff and people over the age of 65 will be able to choose between the two vaccines.
From March 25, vaccination will be available for Georgian citizens over the age of 65.
“They can register as well as record that they came for vaccination. We are waiting for the Pfizer vaccine by the end of this week, so both medical staff and people over 65 will have the opportunity to choose, of course, within certain limits, between Pfizer and AstraZeneca. We are expecting additional doses by the end of April, which is also determined by the COVAX platform,” Tamar Gabunia said.
According to the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, 3,843 people in the medical field have been vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine so far.
