Georgia’s Oil and Gas Corporation shared data revealing that oil volumes transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline equate to 13.9 million tons, a decrease of approximately 0.6 million tons compared to the same period last year.
The BTC pipeline remains a primary route in the South Caucasus energy corridor, running from Azerbaijan’s Sangachal terminal through Georgia to the Turkish port of Ceyhan. It parallels the South Caucasus Gas Pipeline and plays a central role in transporting oil from the Caspian region to global markets.
Meanwhile, the Baku-Supsa pipeline continues to be inactive, with operations still suspended.
The BTC pipeline’s strategic importance stems from its role in exporting energy resources from the Shah Deniz field and other sources. Its major stakeholders include bp, SOCAR, MOL and Equinor.
