Natia Turnava, the acting governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), hosted a meeting with the Georgian national football team, presenting collectible coins to the team and its head coach Willy Sagnol to mark and celebrate their historic achievements at the 2024 European Football Championship. This follows a tradition of the NBG creating coins in response to Georgia’s sports-related milestones.
Turnava noted that these NBG-issued coins, designed in collaboration with the Georgian Football Federation, are a recognition of the team’s success and pride, celebrating the contributions they made to Georgian football.
The coins feature a horseman battling a dragon, signifying victory over fear and weakness. Other details regarding the sale of the coins will be announced soon.
