The multifunctional regional beekeeping center was officially opened in July 2021 and since that day is actively involved in the introduction and implementation of innovations in the field of beekeeping.
A multifunctional regional beekeeping center (hereinafter referred to as the Bagebee Center) was built and equipped by the Czech Development Agency under the project “Sustainable Beekeeping Development in Georgia” in partnership with People in Need Georgia, the Association Agora and Tbilisi City Hall. (Address: Tbilisi, Tskneti Highway # 63, next to the German school, regional beekeeping center.)
One of the main directions of the center is the educational component, within which 3 different levels of modules have been created for the Bage Beekeeping Center. These modules are designed for beekeepers with different experiences and knowledge to be able to deepen practice with theoretical knowledge and receive information about innovations in the field of beekeeping.
This time, on October 8-12, the BageBee Beekeeping Center hosted a pilot training course with the participation of BageBee trainers and various invited experts. Beekeepers participating in the training had the opportunity to learn about the following topics: exports and regulations; Food safety standards; Bee products: production of bee milk and venom, bee dust and honey production, production of various products made of honey.
During the training course, participants had the opportunity to touch in-depth on each topic of the training, participate in a discussion format and share existing best practices and experiences.
Infrastructure in the center of BageBee, apitherapy room, laboratories equipped with modern equipment for receiving bee venom and bee milk allowed training participants to gain practical experience on the ground. In addition, within the framework of the course, a study-practical visit was made to the beekeeping farm of Vladimer Vardosanidze located in Bazaleti. Participants here observed the farm, getting acquainted with important issues related to bee milk.
After completing the pilot training course for beekeepers, it is planned to hold a similar training course by the end of October. Those interested can register their participation through a special application, which will be distributed through the organization “People in Need” and BageBee beekeeping Facebook pages.
