The Ministry of foreign affairs of Georgia published a statement urging Diaspora representatives to caution and strict protection of the recommendations issued by the Government of Greece.
“Due to the large-scale fires in the Republic of Greece, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic is in proactive contact with representatives of Georgian Diaspora organizations active in Greece and informs about their situation and needs in daily mode. There has already been a telephone conversation with dozens of Diaspora organizations, which unites Georgians living in their own place. Ministry and embassy employees once again urged Diaspora representatives to caution and strict protection of the recommendations issued by the Government of Greece. They were also interested in their situation and called for immediate contact with both the Georgian Embassy’s hotline and the relevant agencies of Greece,” reads the statement.
The embassy has issued a special warning for Georgians living in Greece calling on Georgian citizens to take into consideration the calls of the Greek Ministry of Civil Defense to avoid any activity that may cause fire, it is prohibited to enter the forest territory, they should also avoid unintentional movement.
