In December 2023, compared to the previous month, interest rates on loans decreased. In particular, according to the data of the National Bank of Georgia, in November the interest rate on loans was 13.69%, and in December this rate decreased to 12.94%.
It should be noted that interest rates on loans issued in foreign currencies have increased. In November 2023, the average interest rates on loans in foreign currency were 8.58%, in December of the same year – 9.01%.
In addition, in December 2023, in contrast to loans issued in foreign currencies, interest rates on loans issued in GEL have decreased. According to the National Bank of Georgia, in December, interest rates on loans issued in national currency decreased from 16.11% to 15.32% compared to November.
