Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze responded to the public backlash over the ruling party’s most recent political campaign imagery, which depicts war-torn Ukraine. Kobakhidze stated that he believes it is necessary to remind people of the consequences of war, which, according to him, the government avoided in 2022 and 2023.
He accused the media, NGOs, and the opposition of desensitizing people to war-related tragedies through their portrayals.
“What’s going on in Ukraine is unacceptable, and I will not comment on it through this statement. The comparison of war and peace is crucial for society to make the right choices. Those images depict things that are being avoided at the expense of a great struggle,” Kobakhidze declared.
